house-ready-summerFor most people, summer means enjoying your vacation and basking under the sun. However, it also means that homeowners need to repair damage from the past winter. Indeed, the spring thaw is often the cause of major problems that must be addressed if one is to fully enjoy the rest of the season.

Spring cleaning is upon us

After the winter season, it is suggested to clean up your storage space and start anew. A new storage system is also recommended to save time and space.

Spruce up your storage space with a fresh coat of paint. It will liven the atmosphere and only cost a few bucks.

Going from cold to hot weather

The change in season often comes with its share of problems: cracks in the asphalt or the foundations, wobbly fences, etc. Not only is it important to repair any damage caused during the winter season, you must also make sure that you don’t skip steps.

For instance, flush cracks in the asphalt with a jet washer prior to sealing them off. The same goes for any other type of facing.

As for air conditioning units, a thorough inspection is in order if you don’t want to be stuck with a broken AC during the hottest heat wave of the summer. These are all small steps that must be taken to avoid facing the same issues year in and year out.

Your roof, gutters and home all set for summer

The spring thaw often causes snow to slide off the roof, thereby damaging the roof itself or even the eavestroughs. To that effect, pay careful attention to loose shingles and inspect the condition of your rain gutter protection to avoid having to change your roof system or eavestroughs earlier than expected.
