Alu-Rex > Eavestroughs and rain water management blog

Alu-Rex products are among the safest and most efficient leaf guard systems currently available on the market. Based on the independent testing report, a soft breeze is enough to clear most debris. However, in certain areas shielded from the wind, debris may indeed pile up.

Areas shielded by the wind

As shown by independent testing, even when all perforated holes are obstructed, water from rain falls can still be drained adequately.

Be that as it may, we do recommend that you clean the T-Rex or Gutter Clean System occasionally in areas shielded by the roof or located under shallow overhangs of sloped roofs. This will preserve the efficiency of Alu-Rex products.

You should keep in mind that rain gutters installed in areas that require more maintenance, even when dealing with Alu-Rex products, will generally require regular maintenance anyway if they are not equipped with a leaf guard.

Cleaning the leaf guard

Based on our own experience, the easiest way to remove debris from any eavestrough is to invert the handle of a broom so that you don’t need to use a ladder. It is simple, easy, and safe to clean the surface area of Alu-Rex products.

Most brooms sold on the market come with a handle that you can invert to clear the surface area of any Alu-Rex products without using a ladder. Simply unscrew the handle, turn the brush over, and screw the handle back on the other side. You may also use a telescopic pole for this task.
