It is important to perform seasonal maintenance on your lawn tractor or lawnmower to keep it in good working condition for longer. Here are a few maintenance tips to help get started when it’s time to mow your lawn.

1- Inspect your lawnmower

Before grass-cutting season starts, we strongly suggest performing a general inspection of your lawnmower. This includes tightening bolts and checking belts, safety mechanisms and tires. It is also important to clear the underside of the lawnmower of debris which can cause corrosion and reduce the mower’s effectiveness. This first step will help prevent future problems.

2- Sharpen the mower blade

A dull blade uses more gasoline than a blade in good condition. We recommend sharpening or replacing the blade in the spring. It is also a good idea to make sure the blade is not rusted, as winter weather can sometimes cause damage.

3- Stabilize the gasoline in the tank

Adding a stabilizer to the tank helps prevent gasoline separation, which leads to corrosion. We recommend running the motor for five minutes afterward.

Follow these simple steps and you will be ready to mow your lawn safely and efficiently.
